Philanthropy serves a number of vital roles in our society, from reducing human suffering to supporting economic and social change.

Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others

Get Smart Women wants to do its part. On top of personally being involved, we will be showcasing organizations and causes that serve to enact positive life affirming change in our world. The humanitarian efforts being undertaken internationally are as varied and diverse as the women who comprise our membership. We want to honor and show our gratitude to those individuals, groups, and corporate entities that have gone above and beyond to help those less fortunate and suffering souls struggling across the globe.

To support the efforts of our members and assist those businesses, charities, and non-profit organizations that are working to change our world, we are in the process of constructing a directory page that will highlight specific entities as well as GSW members involved in philanthropies or charities. Our goal is to show how these groups support each other as well as the world at large. If you are a GSW member that would be interested in contributing or participating in this effort, please contact globalimpact@getsmartwomen.com

Shopping That Gives Back
Brands for a cause are popping up everywhere, from the iconic Red line of clothing at Gap and Red phone from Motorola to the pink ribbon and the cute guy on the salad dressing bottle, not mention the plethora of good cause multi-colored bracelets you can find at your local gas station. Even if only a portion of the profits generated by product sales are donated to charity you are out there shopping anyway why not buy products that give back. You can still donate directly to your favorite cause, if you want a larger impact just don't forget even the littlest of contributions is helpful.
